Outside my windows… the sky is crystal clear today, and a beautiful blue.
Inside my house… we are all working at the table by the coal stove. It’s cold outside, but it’s nice and toasty here!
Counting 1000 gifts… visits from cousins we haven’t seen in years!
Prayers of the heart… for wisdom to know what to say, and when…
What the (not quite so) little ones are up to… math for the older kids, and LEGOs for Little Guy.
From my playlist… just the hum of the stove this morning! Music to my ears in the winter though!
From my reading list… a book not published recently, but not really “old”, Back to the Moon. It’s a bit far-fetched, but it has been an amusing novel nonetheless.
From my needlework basket… socks for me. Christmas knitting is over, and there’s nothing as warm as good wool socks!
In the learning room… We are officially back to school after our Christmas break. And now that it’s 2016, I’m looking ahead to the next school year. Yes, it’s early to be thinking about it, but I’m weird that way!
Random ramblings… I want to write more in general this year, but I particularly want to write more on paper. The tactile experience of filling pen with ink and setting it to paper makes me slow down and think more when I write. Besides, maybe if I practice enough, I’ll finally develop decent handwriting!
Profound ponderings… “I needed a piece of a story, something real and full of life and blood and breath and heartache, something that someone had lived through, a piece of wisdom earned the hard way. That’s why telling our stories is so important.” – Shauna Niequist
