I love all the back to school sales in July. Even though I don’t have to outfit my kiddos with backpack, lunch boxes, or a specific supply list, I still like to fill up their school boxes. Not to mention stock up on art supplies while the prices are so good! I know I’m not the only homeschooler who’s thinking ahead and gearing up. (Nor the only one who loves to shop the office supply aisles!)

In addition to pencils, crayons, and glue sticks, new planners are on the list. Where else would I be shopping for a planner but Home Educating Family’s website? The publishers of my favorite homeschooling planner and magazine also offer some great student planners!

The dated planner runs from July 2013 to June 2014. So whether you “do school” year round or take a long summer break, it will work with your schedule. Like the Well Planned Day, the Student Planner features a month-at-a-glance calendar, followed by a two-page per week layout for each month. Rather than list specific subjects, there are 22 lines per weekday for listing tasks and assignments. (Yes, there are boxes to check off too!) The planner contains pages for notes and semester reading lists as well. The reference section in the back is made up of helps, tips, and facts. Did I mention that monthly tabs have been added to the Student Planner this year?

This is the first year that Mr. Q will have his own planner. As the kids get older, I’m trying to give them more independence and responsibility. The Student Planner is a great way to accomplish that. They can take a look at their assignments and do the ones that don’t require my help while I’m busy with one of their siblings. Plus, it’s pretty satisfying for the kids to check off the assignments that they’ve completed! With the plethora of cheaply made, character-branded school supplies that pop up this time of year, I’m so glad there is an attractive and well-designed alternative.

The Student Planner is a great organizational tool for elementary and middle school kids. The Tech style planner is shown in my photo, but it’s also available in a really cute Floral style. If you’re on the market for a High School or College planner, be sure to check out the ones on the Home Educating Family site!

Now, who wants to win a copy of the Student Planner? For legal reasons, this giveaway is open to US residents only. I’ll be announcing the winner next Friday on the Teish Knits Facebook page!

HEDUA provided me with a free planner in exchange for my honest review. The opinions expressed are my own, and I would not recommend their planners to my readers if I didn’t love using them myself!
