Outside my window… the sun was shining when I started this post, but now the stars are out. Where did the day go?!

I am thinking… that I really use far too many exclamation points in my posts.

I am thankful for… four growing children who bring so many smiles (and a few gray hairs!) into my life.

From the learning rooms… I’ve been rather surprised this week by how much math Mr. Q has picked up. I think Kindergarten with him this year will be interesting!

From the kitchen… there will be birthday cake baking this week.

I am wearing… LL Bean cropped pants that I got at a yard sale for a song! I love finding clothes at yard sales!

I am creating… a quilt for Mr. Q. Not sure yet if I’ll finish it for his birthday or stash it away for Christmas.

I am going… to take Little Guy to his check-up today. I admit to being rather anxious to find out how much he’s grown. I know he’s getting heavier! (Got back before I got this posted and he’s 14 pounds!)

I am reading… board books to Little Guy. Books about colors pique his interest now. It’s so much fun to watch him start to take a particular interest in certain things!

I am hoping… that my growing children don’t grow up too fast.

I am hearing… a very quiet house since I forgot to come back and finish this post until well after bedtime.

Pondering these words… “Motherhood. It’s not rocket science. It’s brain surgery on astronauts during a lunar launch while reciting the Declaration of Independence backwards – only with less logic.” – from a Dayspring greeting card that my mother-in-law sent me. (I cannot tell you how much I laughed! This card really made my day!)

Around the house… the snake is dead! My knight in shining armor, aka: IT staff, hath vanquished the slithering beast.

One of my favorite things… kids with fingers sticky from snacking on fresh summer fruits.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Playing the baker for Mr. Q’s birthday. I’ve a feeling that Munchkin will be my apprentice! I was probably about her age when I started playing around with cake decorating.
