Tossing the Tape Measure

I think it starts out in elementary school. At least it did for me, and I quickly learned that I didn’t fit in. I didn’t like wearing jeans, I wore un-girly Transformer sneakers; I carried a Star Trek lunch box; and I didn’t have a Trapper Keeper. When compared to the “cool” girls, I just didn’t measure up. I wish I could say that by the time I had kids of my own I’d matured past the point of comparing myself and my kids to others…
