Thoughts for Tuesday, September 29th

Outside my windows… will it rain, or will it shine? This is Maine, so it’s anyone’s guess!

Inside my house… swapping out my office chair for a yoga ball in an effort to improve my posture.

Counting 1000 gifts… being able to laugh with my family.

Prayers of the heart… parenting is hard. You’d think that I’d have figured it all out by the time I had my fourth baby! Alas, it doesn’t work that way, and I find myself praying for wisdom in figuring out how to best parent each of my children as individuals.

What the (not quite so) little ones are up to… airplanes are being built out of LEGOs. I believe they were inspired by all of the photos and video that my IT staff shot at a fly-in this past weekend!

From my playlist… an audiobook at the moment, When Courage Calls. I like listening to audiobooks at times when I’m working. Almost as good as reading… almost.

From my reading list… I mentioned The Hive last week. I read the first chapter and then got so busy that I didn’t get back to it! I plan to remedy that this week! (Oh, and keep your eyes open for more mentions of it during October!)

From my needlework basket… knitting some mittens at the moment. They may end up being Christmas gifts, but I’m not sure for who yet. Maybe I should just knit things and then have an “auction” instead of trying to figure out what to give to whom!

In the learning room… it’s so much fun watching my kids discover books that I enjoyed as a kid! The Mouse and the Motorcycle series by Beverly Cleary has gone over quite well with my kiddos recently.

Random ramblings… I do rather like Audible.com. I go through spurts of listening to audiobooks, and so I don’t maintain a continuous membership. I do find it convenient to have access to an app with my library of audiobooks on my mobile devices, so that’s what really sold me on Audible.

Profound ponderings… “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.” – Louisa May Alcott

Caught on film…
