Thoughts for Tuesday, September 22nd

Outside my windows… leaves are turning, yikes!

Inside my house… how long can we hold off lighting up the stove? It’s not truly cold yet, but there’s a definite fall crispness in the air.

Counting 1000 gifts… thankful for cozy sweaters.

Prayers of the heart… for help untangling so much of what is in my own heart. Dealing with our past is hard, but stuffing it down deep is not a solution either. Reading through Spiritual Whitespace has been tremendously helpful in this area.

What the (not quite so) little ones are up to… creating their own music on an app that we downloaded today. They’re having great fun making up songs!

From my playlist… the soundtrack to Star Trek III.

From my reading list… The Hive, by John Otte. Nope, it’s not out yet, but he was gracious enough to send me an advance reader copy! Look for the review soon!

From my needlework basket… doing a bit of Christmas knitting now.

In the learning room… proportions and ratios, oh my! Actually, I’d forgotten how much fun working with them could be.

Random ramblings… I like the new Star Trek movies, and I’ll definitely be in the theaters next year when the newest one is released. That being said, I still think the original Star Trek movies surpass them in a number of ways. No matter how many times I’ve watched them, I always enjoy revisiting them.

Profound ponderings… “Write what disturbs you, what you fear, what you have not been willing to speak about. Be willing to be split open.” – Natalie Goldberg

Caught on film… if you needed further proof that I’m a geek…
