Thoughts for Tuesday, February 7th

Outside my windows… there is a huge pile of snow. It’s sort of funny to look out the window and see how much snow has landed right by my desk window from the roof!

Inside my house… I’m tweaking my new desk area. Working on getting the setup just right. (My IT staff gets nervous when I whip out the measuring tape!)

Counting 1000 gifts… extra shine on the old linoleum courtesy of spilled glitter nail polish. It’s a reason to laugh, right?

Prayers of the heart… safety for everyone who has to drive in the snow tonight and tomorrow.

What the (not quite so) little ones are up to… a last minute “playdate” with friends!

From my playlist… instrumental tracks by Michael W. Smith.

From my reading list… Different by Sally and Nathan Clarkson. This book has been amazing, encouraging, and food for thought.

From my needlework basket… still working on what I’ve dubbed “Molly’s Sweater”. The stitch patterns look to be shaping up OK so far, but I’ve got a long ways to go before I have a finished sweater.

In the learning room… The kids were doing origami art projects, and it’s pretty apparent that they got their paper folding skills from me. Basically, none of us are completely sure what these folded pieces of paper are supposed to be…

Random ramblings… When there are six of you, it sometimes seems that someone always has an appointment for a checkup, a dental cleaning, and eye exam, etc. It’s tempting to be frustrated with the appointments “cluttering up” my schedule. It would be better for me to be thankful that we have the option of getting these services. So many in the world do not.

Profound ponderings… “It’s not the load that breaks you down. It’s the way you carry it.” – CS Lewis
