Outside my windows… we’re getting ready for the 2016 Maine Driveway Ice Capades! It’s that time of year when snow, followed by rain, followed by freezing temps turn everyone’s driveway into a skating rink. Grab your iPhone and let the snow begin!
Inside my house… school books for next year are beginning to gather. Time to grab a box so that I can keep everything I’ll need this fall in one place.
Counting 1000 gifts… birthday cakes! Munchkin’s birthday was this past weekend, and her cake was delicious. We all enjoyed it!
Prayers of the heart… for good decisions. I’m considering a lot of things for this coming year. Things for me, and things for school. I want to make the best choices for everyone, so I could use extra guidance right now.
What the (not quite so) little ones are up to… Munchkin has been working on learning to type today, and all of us have staying inside out of the icky weather!
From my playlist… Writing’s on the Wall. It’s from the soundtrack to the latest Bond movie. I have no idea why I’ve taken such a shine to the song, but it’s been on my playlist a lot!
From my reading list… I’m still finishing Safe House. It’s taking me longer than I thought simply because there’s a lot for me to think about. And I’ve been spending more time knitting and watching TV with my IT staff in the evenings lately. (I’d rather hang out with him than read. That should tell you how much I love him!)
From my needlework basket… socks for me! Winters in Maine are cold, and I’ve discovered that handknit wool socks keep my feet wonderfully toasty.
In the learning room… this is officially a “week off”, but a new typing program and books that arrived today mean that there is still plenty of learning going on…
Random ramblings… I’ve been using The 52 Lists Project journal since the beginning of January. I love lists anyway, and having a prompt for each week has been a fun reason to write more on paper! This week’s prompt is to list my favorite quotes. It’s easy for me to come up with quotes, but harder to narrow it down to a number that fits in the journal. Nearly half of them mention stars, and they run the gamut of quotes from fictional characters, to quotes from real people. Why not make your own list of favorite quotes this week?
Profound ponderings… “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, then are dreamt of in your philosophy.” – Hamlet, by Shakespeare
