Outside my windows… it’s been an odd mix going from hot and sunny, to hot and raining.
Inside my house… we’re getting the school room ready for September bit by bit. Switching out books on shelves, clearing out school drawers, and divvying up new school supplies. Printing… so much printing.
Counting 1000 gifts… finding a stash of old greeting cards this afternoon. It always makes me smile to read through them again!
Prayers of the heart… for wisdom – in so many areas! Change can be good, but it tends to leave me uncertain about how to handle it.
What the (not quite so) little ones are up to… playing a game with their dad while dinner cooks and I type.
From my playlist… “Spirit in the Sky” by Norman Greenbaum, but it just switched to “Love and Radiation” by All Star United. (Yes, I have a crazy-eclectic music library!)
From my reading list… Unshakeable Hope by Max Lucado has been on my desk since yesterday. I’m reading only one chapter a day so that I can ponder and think about what I’ve read.
From my needlework basket… a dishcloth is on my needles at the moment. I found an interesting baby bib pattern though that I’m itching to try!
In the learning room… I’m putting in time working on lesson planning for the year. I do digital, online planning for the whole year because it’s easy to move things around as needed, and then transfer 6 weeks of lesson plans at a time to my paper planner for daily use. I love the convenience the online version offers, but I can’t see myself ever giving up paper completely!
Random ramblings… Did Mom ever feel out of her depth when she was my age? I wonder about this frequently. When she was my age, I was Munchkin’s age. I thought she had things pretty well figured out, at least, she seemed to from where I stood! I feel out of my depth in some of these new seasons of life that we’re heading into. The older I get, the more I realize just how much I don’t know! I sure hope I’m not the only parent out there who looks at what’s coming and thinks, “I have no idea what I’m doing!”
Profound ponderings… “The circumstances of life, or the promises of God – upon which are you standing?” – Max Lucado
