Teatime for September 30th

I’m having… Red Raspberry Leaf Tea with Nettle tincture added for a boost of iron. I’m toying with the idea of adding a spoonful of blackstrap molasses, but I don’t usually enjoy sweet tea.

My mug… is a yellow polka dot mug that my sister brought back from Alabama for me. I love these dotted mugs because they are a good-sized mug. If you’re going to have some tea, HAVE SOME TEA!

I’m feeling… less nausea and only a slightly sore throat, so I’m thankful to be feeling so much better! Pulling out the old baby clothes has been at times an emotional project. I always felt sad when I had to pack away clothes that Mom had given the kids once they were too small. Bringing out the baby clothes that my Munchkin wore reminds me of the people who gave them to her, including my Mom. Like many things in my life the past year and a half, it’s bittersweet. There are a lot of great memories there. Memories of Mom holding my babies. But, with the memories comes the reminder that she’s gone.

On my mind… are the realities of life with a newborn. It’s been a few years, and my kids have grown so much! It will be an adjustment to have a newborn in the house again. Still, I am happy for the chance to hold another little one, even if they do grow up far too fast!

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1 (This is the memory verse that the kids and I are currently working on. I really love seeing how quickly they memorize at this age, and it’s SO precious to hear the scriptures from the lips of your children!)
