There are only about three and a half years between Little Guy and Camo. Yet I am amazed by the things I’d forgotten about having a newborn in the house. For instance, dinnertime…

Mommy feeds baby. Mommy puts dinner in the oven. Twenty-five minutes later dinner comes out of the oven. Before Mommy can even get out a plate, baby decides that he is hungry again. Baby cries inconsolably until Mommy feeds him again. Mommy sits down with a now-cold dinner. Mommy eats quickly because baby might start fussing again at any moment because it’s dinnertime.

I think this is universal. Every one of my kids has done this and I’m pretty sure that there are a lot of other Moms out there who could say the same! Honestly, it really doesn’t bother me that much this time around. It’s one of those things that frustrated me with my oldest, but this time it just makes me laugh and say, “I forgot that babies do that!” This time I think I realize a little better how fast this first year will go by. So, I’m trying to enjoy this short time that will be spent snuggling Little Guy. It won’t last long!
