Daybook for September 19th

Outside my window… it’s dark because I completely forgot that today was Monday. How I did that, I’m not sure since my lesson planner and electronic calendar both had “MONDAY” on them!

I am thinking… about where to plant some iris bulbs.

I am thankful for… other home educating moms.

From the learning rooms… reading is chugging right along for both of the older kids. We’ve been learning about clouds, and so Munchkin and I were discussing the water cycle while in the car today.

From the kitchen… getting to be soup weather I think.

I am wearing… jeans and a t-shirt declaring, “Super Mom, Super Wife, Super Tired”.

I am creating… the last sleeve for a sweater that I started a year and a half ago. Gorgeous colored wool and a pattern that I love. Unbelievably, it still fits.

I am going… to get some shut-eye soon!

I am reading… One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. Does God send books our way for a reason? Reading Ann’s book has made me believe that He does.

I am hoping… that the two older kids don’t share their colds with the rest of us!

I am hearing… not much. All four of the kids are sleeping. I should probably be sleeping too…

Pondering these words… “But awakening to joy awakens to pain. Joy and pain, they are but two arteries of the one heart that pumps through all those who don’t numb themselves to really living.” – Ann Voskamp, from her book.

Around the house… I’ll be digging some holes tomorrow.

One of my favorite things… visits with my mother-in-law. Even a short visit with her makes me smile!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Planting bulbs, learning with my children and all of the usual stuff that we do.
