Daybook for November 1st

Outside my window… the pond is glassy and there is still a bit of snow on the lawn.

I am thinking… about how to decorate our Christmas tree, believe it or not. (I’m just not usually a person who really gets into decorating.)

I am thankful for… warm woolen mittens.

From the learning rooms… more subtraction this week, and tackling mercury in astronomy.

From the kitchen… thinking of making cranberry biscotti. It’s biscotti season now.

I am wearing… gray knit pants and a pink sweater.

I am creating… mittens for myself, since fingerless mitts don’t work as well for snowball fights!

I am going… to take Munchkin to the dentist for more dental work this week. She’ll do fine, but I’ll still be nervous!

I am reading… some Sherlock Holmes for fun.

I am hoping… that Mr. Q never loses that creative engineering streak of his.

I am hearing… kiddos munching breakfast and Mr. Q explaining his latest lego creation to me.

Pondering these words… “How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers.”

Around the house… I’m teaching Munchkin how to do her own laundry, with a little help!

One of my favorite things… snowball fights with my kids.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Just a typical week around here, with a dentist appointment thrown in.
