Daybook for November 14th

Outside my window… it’s overcast and fallish, but surprisingly warm anyway.

I am thinking… about my IT staff’s birthday this coming weekend. I’ve got plotting to do!

I am thankful for… the four short people in the house who love me just because I’m Mommy, and just because I love them.

From the learning rooms… I’ve got a few books lined up that I’d like to read with the kiddos this week. One about Beatrix Potter!

From the kitchen… the new recipe I tried out this weekend will be added to my list of casseroles that we like. Now to decide what to do for the IT staff’s birthday cake…

I am wearing… jeans and a leaf green turtleneck.

I am creating… a plastic canvas gingerbread house. Yes, it’s probably as cheesy as it sounds, but Mom had one that she’d made that she filled with Hershey’s kisses and mini candy bars every year at Christmas time. I’m getting sentimental and nostalgic.

I am going… to homeschool group this afternoon! Yay!

I am reading… just blogs for now. The gingerbread house keeps my hands busy, and I haven’t figured out how to do that and read at the same time.

I am hoping… the plastic canvas gingerbread house is actually done before Christmas!

I am hearing… kiddos enjoying the creativity of a box of legos, and the IT staff spouting math that relates to his panoramic photography. (Can a hobby that includes so much math really be fun and relaxing????)

Pondering these words… “What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you say.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Around the house… are a whole bunch of binkies that I cannot find. Seriously, where does the baby hide all of those pacifiers?!?

One of my favorite things… white chocolate covered Oreos. A limited edition that only comes out briefly this time of the year. (Yes, I’m going to hide them!)

A few plans for the rest of the week: I have a writing deadline to meet, a few fun things I want to try out with the kids, and of course the usual Mom stuff!
