Daybook for June 24th

Outside my window… it’s raining, and I think I can actually see our lawn growing while I watch.

I am thinking… about the to-do list. I’ve heard it said that most women never stop thinking about the list. I wonder if that’s true.

I am thankful for… hugs from my kiddos.

From the learning rooms… a week of math reviews for Munchkin and then both of the older kids are done with math for the year. It will take a few more weeks to finish up all of the odds and ends, but we’ll be working on our Spanish all summer. We basically “do school” year-round, but the weeks between finishing up one grade and the start of the next are a nice little break for all of us.

From the kitchen… homemade iced tea this morning since it’s rather humid. I use decaf black tea and herbal tea to make a nice summery blend.

I am wearing… black yoga pants and a Red Sox t-shirt.

I am creating… mittens and hats. This is a good time of the year to knit such things because they are small. It’s also nice to have them done before the weather turns cold and we need them!

I am going… to be having some fun stuff on the blog in the next few weeks. It may even include giveaways… So be sure to keep an eye out!

I am reading… Bread and Wine, and Red Dawn Rising.

I am hoping… or rather, praying for two families who recently lost a mother. My heart aches for them, and I pray that they find comfort in their trust and faith in God.

I am hearing… kiddos playing with LEGOs in the dining room. That’s a pretty common sound around our house!

Pondering these words… “If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the piles and piles of laundry will disappear all too soon and that you will, to your surprise, miss them profoundly.” – Thomas S. Monson

Around the house… it looks like my tiger lilies will be blooming very soon. The splash of orange by the front door and around the house just makes me smile.

One of my favorite things… is getting the mail. I’m completely like a kid in this! You never know what exciting letter or package might arrive in your mailbox!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Laundry of course! Also a bit of planning and a couple of little projects leading up to Mr. Q’s 7th birthday next week. Is he really going to be seven years old?!?!?
