Outside my window… kiddos are running around in the backyard with badminton rackets.
I am thinking… about responsibility: what is mine to deal with, and what I must let go of because it’s not up to me.
I am thankful for… my sweet, smart, and quirky kiddos.
From the learning rooms… we’re nearly through math for the year, but we’re studying some beginning Spanish this summer. I’ll have to learn along with the kids so that they don’t start having conversations that I don’t understand!
From the kitchen… tea and toaster waffles for breakfast. My mornings have to start out with a cup of Earl Grey.
I am wearing… knit pants and a red t-shirt.
I am creating… just odds and ends sort of knitting, nothing too complicated for now.
I am going… to put the second coat of paint on the last wall in the dining room now that I have more paint. First I have to move the piano again…
I am reading… a few books, some that we’ll be using this fall, a bit of fiction, and a book about dealing with stress.
I am hoping… that we have a few days of clear weather this week to air out the tent.
I am hearing… kiddos now back inside working on geography notebooks.
Pondering these words… “If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I’ll bet they’d live a lot differently.” – Calvin of Calvin and Hobbs
Around the house… I love the new dining room wall color. It’s much brighter in that room now. I used some of the sheer panels from the living room on the windows, and that looks much better too. I really love the new spray paint job on my filing cabinet!
One of my favorite things… is getting our bookshelves in order during the summer so that it’s all ready for New Book Day in the fall.
A few plans for the rest of the week: a bit of planning for Mr. Q’s birthday next month, reading, writing, laundry, and all of the usual chaos that comes with a family of 6.
