Daybook for July 18th

Outside my window… it’s looking a bit hazy. Guess the humidity isn’t going anywhere today.

I am thinking… about where my box of blunt-end needles has gone. I’ve got a sock ready to finish, but first I need my needle…

I am thankful for… a mother-in-law who I can call when I have homeschooling questions.

From the learning rooms… our curriculum order has been placed! Now I get to anxiously wait for it to arrive! I decided at the last minute to swap out our science for the Answers in Genesis science. I’m really excited to take a look at it, and I may do a review of it here on the blog if I like it well enough.

From the kitchen… my pork chop and potato casserole has been requested this week.

I am wearing… a Red Sox t-shirt, denim shorts and purple crocs. Every day is causal Friday at our house!

I am creating… photographs! Actually, my IT staff is doing the actual editing magic for me, and I can’t believe the difference!

I am going… to be doing something really exciting on my blog next month!!! Keep an eye out!

I am reading… bits and pieces of a few different books. It depends on what is close at hand when I have a minute to read.

I am hoping… that something of my explanation of what it means to be “considerate” has sunk in. Teaching good manners to young children is interesting

I am hearing… Little Guy discovering language.

Pondering these words… “It kills you to see them grow up.  But I guess it would kill you quicker if they didn’t.” –Barbara Kingsolver

Around the house… I am debating the merits of a cork board in the dining room.

One of my favorite things… hand-knit shawls that double nicely as a baby blanket.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I’m figuring out if the dining room needs to be rearranged again and hopefully getting a package of school books!
