Daybook for January 31st

Outside my window… the snow banks are high, but today is sunny and clear. Still very cold, but at least sunny!

I am thinking… about our upcoming birth. Working on preparing myself mentally for the event.

I am thankful for… at least two fewer mice in the house.

From the learning rooms… finishing up Singapore Math 1A this week and more reading and writing practice!

From the kitchen… perhaps an apple crisp or applesauce later today. I’ve got some apples to use.

I am wearing… black pants, my red “Eating For Two” t-shirt, and a red cardigan.

I am creating… more little baby socks! (I know that I could just buy some, but they are so cute and I’m using up scraps of sock yarn too!)

I am going… to take two to the dentist tomorrow.

I am reading… Child Health Guide: Holistic Pediatrics for Parents by Randall Neustaedter, OMD. This is his second book that I’ve read. There is a lot of really good information in his books and it’s given me a few things to think about.

I am hoping… that the other mice in the attic will be caught soon. They have chewed a hole through the ceiling in our room and I’m very concerned that they might start chewing on the wiring up there!

I am hearing… Bryan Adams on Pandora and Munchkin cutting out her paper “pizza”.

Pondering these words… “To allow is to exercise as much, if not more power, than to forbid.” – Ronald Laing

Around the house… Aaron put up the bird feeder yesterday, so we are anxiously awaiting our first “dinner guests”!

One of my favorite things… blanket forts in the living room.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Just a typical week with a dental appointment thrown in to keep things “interesting”.
