Daybook for January 30th

Outside my window… Orion is looming in the sky.

I am thinking… about what fabric to use for the backing of a very special quilt.

I am thankful for… a little time to spend with my IT staff this evening, even if we just ran some errands!

From the learning rooms… both of the older kids are learning about measurement this week in math. Funny how things line up sometimes!

From the kitchen… considering baking a batch of cupcakes tomorrow…

I am wearing… jeans and an alpaca sweater.

I am creating… sweaters for me I have three in progress that keep getting set aside, and I’ve decided that I just need to finish them.

I am going… to have a couple of kids at the eye doctor’s this week for check-ups. Actually, they will be going with Daddy and I’ll be at home with the youngest boys. It’s always quite a treat when the kids get to go somewhere with just Daddy!

I am reading… I just finished Wind and Shadow, the fourth book in Kathy Tyer’s Firebird series. Wow! I reviewed it over at Christian Fiction Book Reviews, so be sure to check out the review!

I am hoping… to hear back about some furniture tomorrow.

I am hearing… fantastic instrumental music that my IT staff has playing while we both work. Film scores are a favorite genre in our home office.

Pondering these words… “I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process.” – Van Gogh

Around the house… princess tiaras made out of soda bottles and glitter paint were drying in our dining room. A certain little princess has a birthday coming up!

One of my favorite things… is settling in with a really enjoyable book.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Hand quilting will be in my future… and I’m on a deadline… this should be interesting.
