Daybook for January 24th

Outside my window… it’s a clear, crisp January day in Maine, meaning that it’s VERY COLD!

I am thinking… about whether or not I should get a baby monitor. This will be the first baby we’ve had in this house. The home we moved from was smaller with only one story. A two-story home might make a baby monitor practical this time around. Still debating…

I am thankful for… a warm home on cold days.

From the learning rooms… we tackle measurements this week in math! I think an Imax documentary on Africa might be on the agenda too.

From the kitchen… I made homemade hamburger rolls this weekend that for some reason rose sky high, but did not increase in diameter. They looked pretty funny, but tasted good just the same.

I am wearing… fleece PJ’s. (Don’t laugh, they are WARM!)

I am creating… itty-bitty baby socks to add to the stash.

I am going… to have to order Munchkin’s birthday party supplies this week. The ones I was hoping to use won’t be available until after her birthday, but I found something similar that’s pink. Pink is ALWAYS a hit for my little princess!

I am reading… Gone With the Wind still. I’m at least ¾ of the way through it. I may set it aside briefly when my book order comes tomorrow!

I am hoping… that our January cold snap is short!

I am hearing… three little kids playing in the next room with FAR more energy than their Mom has!

Pondering these words… I’ve read all sorts of interesting little quotes this week, but not one of them will come to mind at the moment!

Around the house… laundry is as close to being “caught up” as it gets! On the other hand, there are still dishes to be done and vacuuming to catch up on…

One of my favorite things… pleasant anticipation.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I’ve got a few bassinet sheets that need to be sewn, and a bit of planning for Munchkin’s upcoming birthday.

  1. You know, Teish, I’ve always been impressed at the breadth and depth of insightful words you ponder and record here under “pondering these words.” It totally makes me chuckle that only today, with 3 children underfoot and a pregnancy, you finally draw a blank . . .
