Daybook for January 21st

Outside my window… it’s windy and cold! We’re in the “still winter” season.

I am thinking… about my writing. A few projects going on right now, and I’m working a bit on my novel again. I’m still hoping to have it finished before I have grandkids…

I am thankful for… four kiddos tucked snug in warm beds.

From the learning rooms… a few more new things for the new year. It’s nice to change things up a bit when the long winter stretches out before us.

From the kitchen… cream cheese swirl brownies are in the oven. Munchkin made English muffin pizzas for lunch today. She was excited that she actually cooked something herself!

I am wearing… jeans, a gray shirt, and a wonderfully warm fleece jacket that was a gift from Aaron’s folks. I can tell that I’ll be getting plenty of use out of this jacket!

I am creating… clothes for Munchkin’s birthday. I’ve got a couple of sweaters in progress and several new sewing patterns that will be put to use in the next couple of weeks.

I am going… to stay inside, very close to the coal stove this week. Below zero is just too cold to be out in!

I am reading… The Fifth Man. It’s a science fiction novel, and the sequel to Oxygen. I have a mixed reaction to the first book, and we’ll see where the second one goes. I’ll probably end up writing reviews of both of them when I’m done.

I am hoping… to figure out a schedule sometime this year. It’s harder than you’d think…

I am hearing… Europa by Immediate Music. I’ve been pondering the song the last couple of days.

Pondering these words… “Change is never easy. You fight to hold on, and you fight to let go.” – Unknown

Around the house… our cockatiel is getting more comfortable perching on our hands or shoulders. It’s rather nice to have a bird hanging out on my shoulder again.

One of my favorite things… very large mugs of hot tea and warm blankets!

A few plans for the rest of the week: I’m staying inside, where it’s warm.
