Daybook for January 17th

Outside my window… it’s a sunny day, but bitterly cold!

I am thinking… about another chapter for Mom’s book. It may be a work in progress for a long time.

I am thankful for… children who love me in spite of my failings.

From the learning rooms… shapes and patterns! It will be a fun week for my Munchkin!

From the kitchen… I think we’ll make some cupcakes this week just for fun.

I am wearing… black pants and a purple sweater.

I am creating… more knitted burp cloths, a hooded baby towel and some sheets for the pack n’ play.

I am going… to attempt to ditch Camo’s diapers this week. So far, it’s not exactly going well…

I am reading… Gone With the Wind, though I don’t know why. I re-watched the movie and remembered how much I disliked the characters. It’s been so long since I read the book though that I can’t remember how much of it was in the movie. We’ll see if I make it through the whole book or not!

I am hoping… to have a productive week and get more things crossed of the to-do list.

I am hearing… two little boys crashing trucks and tractors through walls made of blocks.

Pondering these words… “The essence of sin is man substituting himself for God, while the essence of salvation is God substituting Himself for man.” – John Stott

Around the house… our little pot of mini daffodils is in bloom! It’s nice to see a bit of cheerful color in the middle of January.

One of my favorite things… is going grocery shopping at a leisurely pace!

A few plans for the rest of the week: I need to do a bit of planning for Muchkin’s birthday next month. Mostly, I’ll be trying to do the potty training thing with Camo. That’s not really my strong point as a Mom, so I’ll need a good dose of patience!

  1. Potty training is the worst as far as I am concerned so my prayers are with you! I am amazed by the history of the south in the aftermath of the Civil War while reading GWTW. Most people agree it is fairly accurate. So perhaps it will be worth reading for that reason 🙂
