Outside my window… it looks sort of like the prairie in the back yard. Tall, brown grass covered with a touch of snow. Not the typical Maine Christmas scene!
I am thinking… the deep, meaning-of-life sorts of musings today…
I am thankful for… Christmas cards that are in the mail today! They may not arrive before Christmas, but the cards we sent feature a photo of our four adorable children, so maybe people won’t mind them being a bit late!
From the learning rooms… we are really enjoying our Jesse Tree readings each evening, and the kids love taking turns putting the corresponding ornament on the tree.
From the kitchen… home-made dog biscuits are in the oven. (Yes, the kids and I actually make them from scratch for our German Shepherd’s Christmas stocking!)
I am wearing… jeans and a striped turtleneck. I don’t have an extra layer on because my back is just a couple of feet from my toasty coal stove. Ahhhhh…
I am creating… a few last Christmas projects. Finishing up some gifts and wrapping.
I am going… to decorate dog biscuits and do a bit of quilting this afternoon.
I am reading… not as much as I’d like! (Isn’t that what January is for though?)
I am hoping… to gain the benefit of perspective this Christmas. In light of eternity, my worries seem so small…
I am hearing… the typical background noises for a weekday afternoon at our house.
Pondering these words… “Be pretty if you can, be witty if you must, but be gracious if it kills you.” – Elsie DeWolfe
Around the house… it still doesn’t seem quite like Christmas without the snow!
One of my favorite things… kiddos helping me with cookie cutters.
A few plans for the rest of the week: A few last-minute projects, a bit of baking, maybe a pan of fudge and hopefully finding a bit of peace in the midst of it all.
