Daybook for August 22nd

Outside my window… it’s dusk and the sky is darkening. Stars will be out in a little while.

I am thinking… that as much as I love the medium of language, music is a far more expressive and subtly nuanced media.

I am thankful for… a husband who knows me well enough to present me with a bright orange leather journal with vellum pages, knowing how much I’ll love it!

From the learning rooms… gearing up and looking forward to the coming year.

From the kitchen… a late dinner is in the oven just for me. Unusual, as I rarely cook for just myself.

I am wearing… the only pair of denim shorts that currently fits, a pink t-shirt and yes, the trusty purple crocs!

I am creating… the chocolate brown sweater that will probably be on my needles for a while…

I am going… to take the Little Guy to his check-up in the morning. He’s getting quite hefty, so I’m curious to see what his actual weight and height are.

I am reading… still bits of One Thousand Gifts but mostly school-related things at the moment.

I am hoping… to be up to the challenge.

I am hearing… the “Beethoven’s Last Night Album” by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Pondering these words… Romans 1:20-21 HCSB “From the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse. For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened.”

Around the house… Munchkin’s creativity is resulting in bits of paper all over the house. I love the fact that she is so creative, but we need to figure out how to tame the paper!

One of my favorite things… a fresh, new blank journal. Imagine the endless possibilities!

A few plans for the rest of the week: I’ll be taking a baby to his check-up, having my photo taken and doing the typical “Mom” stuff.

  1. “having [your] photo taken?”

    for an author bio?
    for a passport picture?
for fun? (that would be acceptable too . . . )

    🙂 Do tell!

  2. It is for an author bio, though not for a book that is being published. But I am very excited about the project that I needed it for, though I can’t say much yet!
