Daybook for August 13th

Outside my window… it’s been cloudy and rainy, yet still very hot and humid. Definitely wacky Maine weather!

I am thinking… about all of the things I have to do before Friday. I should really start an organized checklist that will replace the dozen or so lists that are floating about.

I am thankful for… a chance to relax and spend some time with Aaron and the kids this weekend.

From the learning rooms… just a few more weeks until “New Book Day”!

From the kitchen… I need to make a batch of bread today. The humidity is making it harder for me to find the motivation to turn on the oven though!

I am wearing… denim capris, a blue t-shirt, and my trusty purple crocs.

I am creating… mittens and baby bibs. Knitting on a big wool sweater is not appealing in August, so small projects are what catch my eye.

I am going… to be camping this weekend! The kids are beyond excited, and I have to admit that I’m looking forward to as well!

I am reading… or, I will be reading, Unseen by John Hileman as soon as I get a chance to! This is John’s third novel, and I can’t wait to read it!

I am hoping… for good weather this weekend.

I am hearing… kiddos creating everything from houses, to cars, to animals with LEGOs. Is there any other toy that can provide as many hours of fun and creativity as LEGOs?

Pondering these words… “As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.” – Winnie the Pooh

Around the house… I am still getting our school/dining room in order for September, and sorting through and packing up our camping gear for this weekend.

One of my favorite things… is the smile Little Guy greets me with when getting up from a nap.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Gearing up for camping and the upcoming “school year” are both on my to-do list, and there will definitely be plenty of laundry to go along with it!
